Those gamblers in their school of thought believed they should invest heavily for them to either win or lose heavily as their case maybe. What advice should they be given?.

It is indeed concerning when some gamblers continue to engage in irresponsible gambling even after acknowledging the potential negative consequences. It is important to understand that for some individuals, gambling may become a compulsive behavior that is difficult to control. These gamblers may have developed a belief that their primary source of income can only come from gambling, which can be a dangerous mindset.

If you know someone who falls into this category, it is crucial to offer them support and guidance. Here are some pieces of advice that might be helpful:

1. Seek professional help: Encourage the individual to reach out to a counselor or therapist who specializes in gambling addiction. These professionals can provide valuable guidance and strategies to overcome the compulsion and develop healthier habits.

2. Create a budget: Help them to establish a realistic budget and financial plan that does not rely solely on gambling. This can involve seeking alternative sources of income or exploring other career opportunities that align with their interests and skills.

3. Encourage responsible gambling practices: Educate them about the importance of responsible gambling. This includes setting limits on time and money spent, avoiding chasing losses, and taking regular breaks from gambling. Emphasize the enjoyment of the activity rather than focusing solely on winning or losing.

4. Provide alternative forms of entertainment: Help them discover or rekindle hobbies and interests outside of gambling. Encourage participation in activities that are engrossing, fulfilling, and offer a sense of achievement outside of financial gains.

5. Foster a support system: Encourage them to join a gambling support group or engage with others who have overcome or are working through similar issues. Surrounding themselves with individuals who understand their struggles can provide a sense of community and motivation to change.

Remember, overcoming irresponsible gambling habits can be a gradual process, and it is important to be patient and supportive without enabling destructive behavior.
