Why Splitting Aces is -EV

What are your thoughts on splitting aces? While it gives you two chances to hit that 21, the extra bet reduces your odds of profit. With only two cards, I feel splitting in blackjack leaves you more exposed and -EV compared to hitting or doubling down. However, some argue splitting creates more excitement. What strategic approach works best for you when the dealer shows a 6?

The reason why this play is +EV is that the dealer has a high likelihood of busting (exceeding 21) with a 6 upcard, whereas the player is less likely to bust with a hard 9. This means that the player has a good chance of winning the hand, and when they do, they will receive a payout of 2:1 on their doubled bet.
