A six-year prison sentence was handed down to a man from Wirrall who stole £186,000 in cash from his employers to support his gambling.
While employed as a cashier at Liverpool Motor Auction, the 29-year-old committed a number of thefts between March 2019 and April 2020.
He would make sizable deposits into his personal Halifax bank account and stole a total of £186,000 during this period to support his gambling habit. By misrecording car sales, he was able to conceal the company's financial shortfall.
