Woman sentenced over manufacturing fake winning scratch cards

More than £2,000 in compensation must be given to the woman who stole more than £12,000 by redeeming phony scratchcards.

After pleading guilty to stealing, the suspect received a sentence of 17 months with a 21-month suspension.

While working from August 2019 to October 2020, according to the police, she gave herself £12,370 in fictitious scratchcard winnings.

The regional manager of the shop looked into any disparities in the station's finances.

Police said that at first, the offender denied any misconduct and insisted that it had to have been another employee.

They said there was proof that payments were only made while she was working her shift and utilizing her till login information.
