World Series of Poker winner found guilty for sports betting fraud scheme

In a federal court in New York on Wednesday, a professional poker player and sports betting promoter entered a guilty plea to defrauding clients in his sports handicapping business.

By pretending to have insider knowledge, the World Series of Poker bracelet winner and his co-defendants allegedly tricked clients into paying for betting advice, "only to feed them lies and pocket millions of dollars from their savings and retirement accounts," according to federal prosecutors.

The conviction of a World Series of Poker winner for sports betting fraud tarnishes the integrity of professional poker and highlights the importance of maintaining ethical standards in gaming and sports.
