Wynn Resorts and Massachusetts officials rekindle MLS stadium project

In Massachusetts, Wynn Resorts is revising its request for state legislators to rezone land near the Encore Boston Harbor so that a Major League Soccer stadium may be built there.

Wynn paid Constellation Energy $25 million in March to buy a portion of the Mystic power plant that was shut down. The Encore Boston Harbor casino resort is across Alford Street from the 45-acre site.

In Massachusetts' three casinos, Encore Boston Harbor is the industry leader. The casino has generated gross gaming revenue of more than $2.57 billion since it first opened in June 2019, resulting in state gaming taxes of more than $643.7 million. The casino has also given its neighboring communities many millions more in local taxes and share assessments.

The triumph of the casino has not just made a noteworthy contribution to state betting levies but has also favored neighboring communities through tax earnings. This potential expansion could amplify the amusement choices in the area and additionally foster the local economy.
