Young non-league footballers set to receive training on curbing gambling addiction

Teen non-league players are being cautioned about the risks of betting by a former football player who is also in recovery from gambling addiction.

He stated that it was crucial to alert other football players about the risks associated with gambling because his addiction began when he was a young non-league player.

Since many of his young players were already using gambling apps, the manager of one team stated that education was crucial.

Professional football and cricket players had three times the likelihood of developing a gambling addiction compared to young men in the general population, according to a 2014 study.
