Young person sentenced to 18 months in prison for DraftKings cyberfraud

One of the young people involved in the 2022 cyber fraud scheme involving DraftKings Sportsbook accounts has entered a guilty plea and agreed to serve an 18-month prison sentence.

The 19-year-old participated in an attack using credentials. He and other conspirators used system flaws to siphon off $600,000 from DraftKings customers whose login information had been obtained through other data breaches.

More than 1,600 sports betting accounts were impacted in total. The accused allegedly boasted about the cyberattack to friends, telling them that deception is enjoyable.
