Zoo worker jailed for stealing £180,000 to fuel gambling habit

After being found guilty of stealing £180,000 from his prior job, a zoo employee was sentenced to prison. Over the course of a year, Liverpool Motor Auctions was the victim of theft by the gambling addict.

His theft caused the company to fail, and other employees lost their jobs. He proceeded to steal an additional £20,000 even after being placed under investigation following the discovery of £160,000 missing. Additionally, the suspect used a false identity to purchase a Nissan Qashqai from the business; however, he never paid any money for it. As a result, the auctioneers had a £5,500 deficit.
