The police are looking into 126 individuals they suspect of being involved in illegal horse betting. These people, consisting of 120 men and 6 women, were gathered up after the police conducted operations across the entire island over a two-week period in October.
Between October 14 and 28, seven police land divisions conducted raids at 21 different locations across the island. They seized over $69,000 in cash, a variety of mobile phones, and materials related to illegal horse betting.
According to the police, initial investigations suggest that these 126 people played different roles in the illegal betting activities.
