AC Milan manager denies prior knowledge of Sandro Tonali gambling addiction

The AC Milan manager, an Italian soccer powerhouse, is adamant that the before Sandro Tonali joined Newcastle United, the club was unaware of his problem with gambling.

Just four months after his highly publicized transfer to Newcastle, the player received a ten-month soccer ban in October. This was following his admission that he had broken the regulations of the English Football Association and the Italian Football Federation by placing bets on games, including ones in which he had played, through illicit gambling websites.

During an investigation by Italian police into illegal online gambling with connections to organized crime, Tonali's gambling habits were discovered.
