Australia tops global gambling losses with $1,635 per person in new report

According to a recent study, Australia has the highest average annual loss of $1,635 per person worldwide, making it the country with the highest gambling losses.

According to the report, strong vested interests blocked the government's previous attempts to impose a ban, causing Australians to lose an incredible $24 billion to gambling in 2020–21.

The think tank called for an immediate prohibition on gambling advertisements as a means of the government responding to the gambling epidemic.
