It is normal to be sentimental most especially if the team is not theirs. The bottom line is to make correct predictions and I wouldn't bother myself with and the sentiment . I am only concerned with the predictions they will make.

You raise an excellent point. A lot of the time, I do feel that the effort that is put into coming out with an informed selection is underestimated by a lot of people, amidst the negative perception around betting in general.
