Bettors incensed over the handling of golf tournament by sportsbooks

Several sports bettors vented their frustrations on social media about some sportsbooks canceling their wagers on Wyndham Clark's victory at the golf course that was closed due to rain.

Following the determination by PGA Tour officials that the venue was unplayable, Clark was declared the winner.

After the third round, a lot of golf bettors placed large bets on Clark due to the possibility of severe weather. Many of those bettors thought their wager had even better odds of winning because the weather could cancel the final round, so they were expecting a cancellation.

The house rules of many sportsbooks, however, nullify these wagers. Futures bets placed after one round ends and before the start of another are void if the following round isn't played, according to books like DraftKings.
