California cardrooms protest as bill moves forward allowing tribes to sue

Over 100 people gathered in California to protest legislation that they fear will cost cardrooms thousands of jobs. Despite protests, the California Assembly's Governmental Organization Committee moved the bill forward.

The bill would provide California tribal casino operators a window of opportunity to sue the state's 84 registered card rooms. The tribes argue that the card clubs are offering games that contravene their prohibition on house-banked games, such as blackjack and Pai Gow poker.

Gambling is a very lucrative business and don't expect that the business will not involve some level of politicking. I believe that some of the owners of casino and gambling sites are also influcers of the state house. The highest bidder also have better option.
