Chinese offshore gambling workers set to lose jobs in Philippines crackdown

As the Southeast Asian nation looks to uproot the industry by year's end under growing scrutiny from both Beijing and Manila, tens of thousands of Chinese citizens working in the Philippines to assist in running offshore gambling services could lose their work visas by mid-October.
Foreign nationals employed by Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators were instructed to voluntarily cancel their work visas by October. If not, Manila intends to provide this service to any foreign nationals involved in such activities.

It is quite unfortunate that some workers will lose their job and economic will lose good source of income. Moreover, it will be difficult to ban online gambling because with use of vpn, gamblers will still access the sites . I think the government should endeavor to think constructively and stop chasing shadows.
