Churchill Downs Incorporated officially opens Owensboro Racing & Gaming

In Owensboro, Kentucky, Churchill Downs Incorporated has formally opened Owensboro Racing & Gaming, a $100 million historic horse racing complex.

The location, which is the seventh historical horse racing facility property in the state owned by Churchill Downs Incorporated, has 600 historical racing machines, a retail sportsbook, simulcast betting, and a range of food and drink options.

It is anticipated that purse funding for Ellis Park Racing & Gaming's summer racing meet in Henderson, Kentucky, will be supported by the new facility.

I believe It also provides crucial support to Kentucky's horse racing industry, as revenue from the historical racing machines will boost prize money for races at Ellis Park. Beyond its economic impact, the venue offers a new entertainment destination with various gaming options, a sportsbook, and dining, enriching the leisure scene in Owensboro. This opening highlights the continued growth of gaming in Kentucky and Churchill Downs' commitment to the state.
