Do you think casinos should focus more on entertainment value than on winning?

On the one hand, casinos ultimately survive by people losing money, so focusing too heavily on entertainment could undermine their core business model. Winning is what motivates many players to keep playing, hoping to recoup losses or ride a hot streak.

However, many players, myself included, are perfectly happy to lose as long as I'm having an enjoyable time. The sheer thrill of the games, the ambiance, cocktails, socializing with friends - those types of entertaining experiences are why I gamble recreationally. If the experience feels like "work", it defeats the purpose. So for casual players and those on a budget, more focus on entertainment value could benefit casino operations.

There is also a segment of players motivated more by competition and challenge than by winning big. Providing engrossing games at a good pace suit those players. Ultimately, a good balance of winning opportunities, player rewards for loyalty, and amenities that enhance the overall experience is probably the sweet spot. But entertainment should never be an afterthought, as that is the real product being sold. The wins and losses will take care of themselves either way. So yes, entertainment absolutely deserves at least as much focus as the chance of winning.

i believe is important for casinos to strike a balance between entertainment value and the potential for winning. Casinos should provide a safe and enjoyable experience for their customers, while also promoting responsible gambling behavior
