GamCare has reported a dramatic increase in gambling-related problems over the Christmas season, which is corroborated by results from a recent YouGov survey. According to the study, 59% of those who struggle with gambling say they bet more over the holidays than they do at other times of the year. Compared to 37% in 2023, this indicates a notable growth. The busiest Christmas season on record was in December, when GamCare's National Gambling Helpline saw a 39% increase in calls and online chats over the previous year.
