GamCare, a charitable organization in the UK that assists individuals impacted by the negative consequences of gambling, has released its Annual Report for the year 2022-23 and shared that the volume of inquiries it is presently handling is at an unprecedented level. Throughout the previous year, GamCare received a staggering 44,049 phone calls or online conversations through its National Gambling Helpline, indicating a 4.7% increase compared to the previous year and marking the highest figure on record thus far. In total, 38,456 therapy sessions were conducted, encompassing 9,0009 Extended Brief Interventions (EBIs).
