Germanys strict Gambling regulations have an adverse effect - DSWV says

According to the German Sports Betting Association (DSWV), Germany's strict gambling regulations are adversely affecting revenue from licensed gaming operators. The country has been struggling with illegal gambling operators, which is causing a decline in revenues from licensed gaming verticals. Currently, the German legal framework on gambling allows only a limited extent of private enterprises to operate gambling. The purpose of gambling regulation is to ensure revenue for the public, prevent crime and gambling problems. However, regulatory measures can have a negative effect on gambling participation. Other European countries, such as Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, have restrictions around sports betting due to the close relationship between sports and gambling. Although Germany allows online gambling, including virtual slot machines, online casinos, and online poker, it has specific regulations that must be followed.
