Gift from father earns Virginia man huge lottery prize

A lottery ticket his father gave him as a gift allowed a Virginia man to win a lifelong prize of $1,000 per week.

Since their April wedding, he and his wife have been residing in his father's basement, he disclosed to Virginia Lottery officials.

The winner decided to take his $1 million prize as a lump sum payment given to him once. He claimed that the funds would enable him to purchase a home.
