How a recovering addict overcame a 12-year gambling spiral caused by "selfishness"

Will Halstead was more than £200,000 in debt as a result of a 12-year addiction and felt suicidal, ashamed, and socially isolated.
At the age of 18, he began accumulating bets on football games to satisfy his betting compulsion. Later, roulette wheels and online video slots seduced him and sent his betting out of control.
Because of this, he and his folks' relationship, with whom he shared a home, fell apart, and he was left feeling as though he was "in a bubble" of betting that no amount of support or assistance could break through.

That's is the scenario with any addicted gambler. They are never self consented. They will be jumping from one game to another looking for where to reap unimaginable wealth. But what happens there after, they run into a loss. They feel dejected, rejected and despair at last.
