How to recognize a beginner?

A newbie at the poker table is easier to spot than a flush draw. They handle chips like they're gold coins, slippin' and slidin' them this way and that. They take forever to make a play, more concerned with calculating pot odds than readin' their opponents. They call every raise, not yet wise enough to know when to fold a marginal hand. The amateur thinks every showdown is their lucky day, not yet aware most hands end in someone else's pot. With time and experience, their gameplay will get faster, more instinctual. But a beginner they shall always remain.
