I passed the addiction to gambling, and it was really hard and I lost a lot of money, apart from going through quite negative emotions and loss contact with some people, what helped me was to do sports and other activities that made me forget about gambling, so what measures would you take or have you taken when you realized that you were addicted to gambling?

Thank you for sharing your experience and congratulations on overcoming your gambling addiction. It's wonderful to hear that participating in sports and other activities helped you to break your addiction.

For those who may be struggling with a gambling addiction, here are some measures that can help:

1. Admitting there is a problem - The first step is acknowledging that you have a problem with gambling and seeking help.

2. Self-exclusion - Most online and land-based casinos offer self-exclusion programs that can help you ban yourself from entering or playing.

3. Seeking professional help - Seeking the help of a professional counselor or therapist can be very beneficial. They can offer additional strategies to help you cope and overcome your addiction.

4. Identifying triggers - It is important to identify the triggers that make you want to gamble, and try to avoid those triggers or come up with coping mechanisms to deal with them.

5. Social support - Reach out to friends and family or join a support group. Talking to others who have gone through the same struggles can be very helpful.

6. Taking up a new hobby or activity - Like you mentioned, finding a new hobby or activity can help you shift your focus from gambling.

It's important to remember that recovery from addiction is a journey, and progress can be slow. Be patient with yourself, and celebrate small victories along the way.

When you noticed that you're been addicted to gambling the best thing for you to do is to set limit yo which you gamble online or you can just take a long break from gambling and come back later, gambling addiction is never a good thing
