Indictment of New York mayor set to impact casino review

As the debate over contentious plans to open casinos in and around the nation's largest city rages on, federal grand juries have indicted New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

By the end of the next year, three downstate locations for commercial gaming properties are scheduled to receive approval from the state. There are currently twelve suggestions.

It has been widely reported that the indictment has to do with improper contributions made to Adams' campaign, including an alleged payment of funds by the Turkish government.
