It is not an advisable thing for a rookie player to face a professional poker player because the professional would use a lot of tactics to win the game. Apart from having the best hand there are so many other strategies that could be used to create room for a professional to win. He could use a lot of strategies like positioning, reading etc to win the rookie player who does not know anything about those strategies.

It is actually advisable, what better way to learn than to play with professionals? So when he losses he will be able to learn very fast what works and what does not. If one plays with a novice on a daily basis there is little to learn.

If you're new to poker, it not the best idea to go up against a pro. Pros are really good and you might find it tough. It better to practice with folks around your level first. That way you can learn and get better without taking on too much at once.
