Las Vegas Sands suffers legal setback in desire for Nassau County casino establishment

The presiding New York State Supreme Court judge may have dealt a blow to Las Vegas Sands' plans to build a casino hotel at the location of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum last Friday when she upheld her earlier decision declaring the county's and the gaming company's lease transfer agreement to be void.

Plans by Las Vegas Sands to construct a $6 billion integrated resort at the Coliseum site, should it win one of the three downstate casino licenses that New York regulators are expected to award.
