Nassau County set to amend lease approval to help Las Vegas Sands proposed casino project

In an attempt to assist Las Vegas Sands in obtaining one of the three downstate casino licenses, Nassau County officials will reorganize a previously agreed-upon lease agreement for the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale.

At the Coliseum hub, which has been vacant since the New York Islanders relocated to Brooklyn after the 2014–15 season, Las Vegas Sands intends to erect a $6 billion casino hotel.
