Major League Baseball (MLB) has announced a new deal with the American Gaming Association (AGA) and its ‘Have a Game Plan. Bet Responsibly’ message.
The deal is aimed at educating sports fans about the dangers of gambling, which comes amid more and more states legalising sports betting.

This was highlighted by Kenny Gersh, MLB Executive VP, Business Development, who said at the announcement: “As legalised wagering continues to grow across the country, MLB is committed to ensuring that fans who choose to wager also have the tools and resources necessary to bet responsibly.
“With the expertise and additional resources of the AGA and NCPG, we’ll be able to expand our responsible gaming efforts further, driving new education, awareness and support service initiatives that will help keep sports betting safe, fun and entertaining for all those who participate.”

Meanwhile, AGA Senior Vice President Casey Clark added: “Welcoming Major League Baseball as a Have A Game Plan partner is a milestone for the campaign and responsible gaming efforts nationwide.

“MLB understands that as legal sports betting grows so does our collective commitment to responsibility. This partnership will have a meaningful impact, teaching fans across the country the fundamentals of responsible wagering.”

The partnership between Major League Baseball (MLB) and the American Gaming Association (AGA) to promote responsible gambling is a significant step in addressing the potential risks associated with the growing popularity of sports betting. With the legalisation of sports betting in more states, there is a need for education and awareness regarding responsible gambling practices.

MLB's commitment to providing fans with the necessary tools and resources to bet responsibly is commendable. By teaming up with the AGA and the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), MLB can leverage their expertise and resources to expand their responsible gaming efforts. This collaboration will drive new initiatives focused on education, awareness, and support services, ultimately ensuring that sports betting remains safe, fun, and entertaining for all participants.

The AGA's recognition of MLB's involvement as a milestone for their "Have a Game Plan. Bet Responsibly" campaign showcases the effectiveness of partnerships in promoting responsible gambling on a nationwide scale. The understanding that responsibility should be prioritized as sports betting continues to grow is a crucial aspect of this collaboration. Educating fans across the country about responsible wagering is a meaningful way to address potential gambling-related harms.

By promoting responsible betting practices, MLB and the AGA are demonstrating their commitment to protecting sports bettors and mitigating the potential negative consequences of gambling. This partnership serves as a positive example of how sports organizations can actively engage in efforts to minimize problem gambling and ensure a safe environment for all participants. It is crucial for other sports leagues to follow suit and prioritize responsible gambling in order to maintain the integrity of their respective sports and protect their fans.
