Malaysia police arrest 181 people involved in illegal gambling

In light of gaming activities during the Chinese New Year celebrations, the Johor police contingent apprehended 181 people, including eight foreigners, for a variety of offenses during a special operation.

136 men and 37 women, ages 20 to 60, were apprehended by police during 23 raids, according to the police chief. Among them were eight foreign nationals, five of whom were men and three of whom were women.


In his words, the operation's goal was to reduce the amount of gambling that syndicates and individual players organize for the holidays.
