MGM Resorts boosts renewable energy with solar power agreement

By entering into a power purchase agreement with Escape Solar, MGM Resorts International has advanced its sustainability objectives even further.

MGM Resorts will be able to obtain 100% renewable electricity in North America by 2030 thanks to the 25-year agreement, which will more than double the company's access to clean solar electricity.

At 11 of its properties on the Las Vegas Strip, MGM Resorts currently uses solar power for 90% of its daytime needs. With this new agreement, renewable energy will be available for uses like exterior lighting until early evening, meeting all of these properties' daytime needs.

Their commitment to 100% renewable electricity by 2030 is a big win for sustainability and sets an impressive example for other large companies. Doubling their access to solar energy shows they’re serious about reducing their carbon footprint, especially in a high-energy-demand area like Las Vegas. The 25-year agreement also demonstrates long-term thinking, ensuring clean energy access for years to come.

I like how MGM is using solar not just for the big stuff but even for things like exterior lighting. It’s a reminder that every step counts. What’s cool is that this agreement sets them up to hit 100% renewable electricity by 2030! Are you considering solar panels for your home or business?

MGM Resorts making a move like this is inspiring—it shows how big companies can lead by example in sustainability. I’ve been looking into solar panels dublin for my own home lately and came across a post about Future Proof Your Dublin Home With Solar. It got me thinking about how solar could make a real difference even at the residential level.
