NCAA President emphasizes on the safety of athletes amidst rise in college betting

This week at the NCAA Convention in Phoenix, the NCAA President used his State of College Sports address to emphasize how vital it is to continue to safeguard student-athletes from dishonest sports bettors.

About 40 states allow sports betting. Although the executive has admitted that collegiate sports have benefited from the growth of regulated sportsbooks in the US, the former governor of Massachusetts, who signed the state's sports betting legislation into law, says the organization needs to keep putting player protections in place.
