Ontario's Alcohol and Gaming Commission has updated the registrar's standards for Internet gaming following the Canadian Parliament's decision to reintroduce black and gray market bets, with October 31 being the deadline for unregulated operators.

With this the Commission has also announced to integrate operators as well as help customers migrate. This has created problems in the gambling market there, as all sportsbooks are in unregulated gray market.

OK i hope they will be able able to meet the deadline. I'm sure it's not an online thing because can alcohol and gambling be online together?

That is Commission, an authority which is responsible for Alcohol and Gambling issue. Authorities are only trying to regulate igaming in Canada.

I think alchool is risky to be promoted online as you do not have control if the major person that will sell alchool to his house will share with someone under 18 years old.

This has nothing to do with Alcohol, its the authority which controls Gambling.
It is up to government to divide both or keep United, Gambling is also in same way. Moreover, they are trying to control it.

I support the motion. Without this regulation, the actions of most illegal casino sites won't be checked. Also, the decision of the parliament could cause Alot of new developments from the casino companies which could have negative impact in the casino game.

I think yes, in casino, "house only wins", but with regulation, they will be forced to play somewhat fair, where people might earn money.

The government all along knows this and that is why Ontario government is taking actions on the regulation of betting in the market.

Update

The October 31 deadline wasn't a joke, they had implemented new regulations already. Now anyone found doing the unragilated iGaming, will face action from AGC Ontario.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has updated its standards for Internet gaming, prompted by Canada's reintroduction of black and gray market betting regulations. October 31 is the deadline for unregulated operators to transition into compliance. This regulatory shift aims to formalize the online gaming industry, integrating operators into the legal framework and supporting customer migration to licensed platforms.
However, the move has stirred challenges in the gambling market, particularly for sportsbooks currently operating in the gray market. These operators face hurdles in aligning with the new regulatory requirements, creating tension as the market seeks to stabilize under these stricter controls.

Explain this in simple way not technically because rare people understand the law part and not every body so anyone read the post could general understand it and thanks in advance for your efforts.
