A Georgia resolution that would have put the choice to permit in-person gambling and sports betting to voters was withdrawn. The bill stated that there would be at least eight casino licenses available. 20% of gross gaming revenue would be taxed on both sports betting and casino gaming.
The proposal expressly forbids gambling at casinos off-site. Additionally, a new gaming commission would be established. The bill calls for Georgia counties to share the first $2 billion in tax revenue. Initiatives to address problem and responsible gambling would receive five percent of tax revenue.
