Minnesota legislative council seeking to push reviesed gambling bill in 2024

Beginning on the first day of the Minnesota legislative session in 2024, sports betting will once again be discussed. The state senator from Minnesota is stepping up her efforts to get sports betting legal.

Revenue from sports betting would be subject to a 15% tax. Miller claimed that tax revenues would increase horse racing, draw major sporting events, and relieve local charities from the charitable gaming tax.

Some charitable gaming options removed from the 2023 tax bill are included in the revised bill, such as bonus games and free plays on electronic pull tabs.
