Slowplaying 22 - when it can gain you more than re-raising pre-flop

Is slowplaying pocket pair 22 an underutilized strategy pre-flop, especially versus aggressive players who overvalue medium pairs? Re-raising with this weak holding often gets cut down before the flop, but calling and seeing the flop for cheap can set up a profitable steal when an overpair or draw misses. Even trapping aggressive players post-flop with a c-bet and check-raise could yield a large pot. While risky, slowplaying 22 pre-flop then targeting the right players post-flop has netted me significant wins over the years. What are others' experiences exploiting this strategy?

When playing against aggressive opponents who constantly bet or raise, slowplaying might be especially effective. You can potentially gain more value when you hit a set on the board by just calling their pre-flop raise with pocket deuces rather than preventing them from continuing their aggression post-flop.
