The Hague supports Dutch Gambling Authority’s reluctance to grant casino operator gambling license due to links in murder case

The Dutch Gambling Authority's decision to deny a Malta-based provider a license to operate in the Netherlands has been upheld by the Hague.

The integrity test for online gambling providers has never been decided by a court before.

The first rejection occurred in 2023 when the unidentified provider refused to provide the Dutch regulator with information about one of its shareholders, who was suspected of being involved in the murder of an investigative journalist covering a significant corruption scandal in Malta, during the integrity tests.

The Hague's backing of the Dutch Gambling Authority's refusal to grant a casino license due to murder case connections demonstrates a strong commitment to ethical standards and preventing criminal infiltration within the gambling industry, ultimately safeguarding public trust and ensuring thorough regulatory oversight.
