Tropicana Las Vegas and Mirage casino workers set to ratify agreement for pay raises

Five-year labor agreements received initial support from the unionized workers of The Tropicana Las Vegas and The Mirage casinos. The union said on Wednesday that the contracts, if accepted by the rank and file, will encompass approximately 2,000 members of the Culinary Union. The Mirage employs about 1,700 people, while The Tropicana employs about 300.

The union is pushing for similar pay raises for staff members at downtown Las Vegas properties as well. Historically, downtown establishments have paid their employees less than hotels and casinos in the more well-known gaming districts.
