UK to ban use of credit card fors gambling

Britain will from April ban the use of credit cards to pay for bets,its gambling regulator announced on Tuesday,the latest clampdown on the industry.
The gambling commission has announced a ban on gambling business allowing consumer in great Britain to use credit card to gamble.
The ban comes into effect on April 14 and follows a measure introduced last year by the British government to slash the minimum stake on electronic casino-style games aimed at curbing their addictive appeal.
On banning the use of credit cards ,gambling commission chief executive Neil McArthur said Tuesday, credit card gambling can lead to significant financial harm .the ban that we have announce today should minimize the risks of harm to consumers from gambling with money they do not have.

I quite agree with the decision. If checks is not put in place regarding the ways credit cards were mischievousy abused in gambling staking it could have serious harm to the financial security. People should be using money they have at hand rather.

Though one cannot estimate the harm that betting with card is done to the users. Some people do not even know how to control their betting urge. They bet once they are with their card. I only hope the create alternative.

This ban is quite surprising because of the ubitiquous nature of credit card use in the United Kingdom for different transactions, with gambling being no exception. This will definitely reduce the number of participants for an online casino
