The Omega II System is a card counting methodology popularized in Bryce Carlson's excellent book, Blackjack for Blood. It is a relatively hard system to use, but is considered to be one of the most accurate and powerful card counting methods. The basic premise of the Omega II system is that each card in the deck is assigned a positive or negative value, which is used to determine the amount of each bet. Cards numbered two, three and seven are assigned a value of +1, while four, five and six are assigned a value of +2. Aces, tens and face cards are assigned a value of -2. The count begins at 0, and increases or decreases with each card that is dealt. The higher the count is, the bigger the bet is, and vice versa.
