Why people think that buying a lottery and gambling in casino two different things?

I think that lottery is just like gambling money. When you purchase a lottery ticket, you tend to gamble money because you are participating in a game. This is the exact kind of system which is associated with gambling money in a casino. So, in essential, do you think that both lottery and gambling money in a casino is basically the same kind of thing? What do you think?

I sincerely do not think that it is difference because at the end of the day you are not the one who is going to control the outcome. I also believe that you tend to spend more money if you are going to go to the casino.
