Check-Calling the Flop in 2-7 Single Draw

Checking the flop in a two-seven single draw poker game means not betting when it is your turn after the first three community cards are dealt face up. Some players choose to check-call the flop because they do not have a strong hand yet but do not want to fold either. They hope more community cards will improve their hand. By checking rather than betting, they also keep the pot small in case they need to fold later. However, if other players bet big on the flop, check-calling becomes risky with such a weak hand. Check-calling the flop makes sense in two-seven only if you hit one of your cards on the turn or river to make a winning hand.
