Yes, there is a well-established link between poverty and gambling. People who are living in poverty often feel hopeless and may see gambling as a way out of their financial struggles. Additionally, gambling can appear to be an attractive option to those who are struggling to make ends meet as it offers the potential to win a large amount of money with a small initial investment.

However, it is important to note that gambling is not a reliable source of income and can often lead to even greater financial hardships. It is vital for individuals to understand the potential risks and consequences associated with gambling and to seek help if they find themselves struggling with a gambling addiction.

Overall, it is important to address poverty and provide resources and support for individuals and communities to prevent and minimize the harms associated with gambling.

Limited access to education, job opportunities, and social support systems can leave individuals with few options to improve their financial circumstances. In such cases, gambling might be seen as a readily available means to seek financial gains

Poverty can indeed contribute to an increased eagerness to gamble for several reasons. While it's important to note that not all individuals in poverty are prone to gambling, there are certain factors that may make gambling more appealing to those facing financial difficulties. Here are some ways in which poverty can contribute to an eagerness to gamble:

Hope for a quick solution: People in poverty often face significant financial challenges and may view gambling as a potential means of escaping their difficult circumstances. The allure of a large jackpot or a lucky break can create a sense of hope and the belief that gambling could provide a quick solution to their financial problems.

People that are in poverty may not even have much for themselves to involve in gambling. Though there is tendency that many people that are in poverty may always want to be tempted to continue gambling.
