Maryland casino revenue decreases in August monthly report

Last month, Maryland casino revenue fell nearly 5% year on year to just shy of $161.4 million. It's tough to identify why Maryland casinos' gaming revenue fell last month.
Unlike Nevada, which breaks down income by game in its monthly revenue reporting, Maryland's financial records do not. Instead, the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency only specifies gross gaming revenue by slot machines and tables. Because Maryland does not track win rates for table games and slot machines, it's unclear if the revenue decreases are due to lower holdings for the house or if players just wagered less.
