The Mavs and Heat are in similar situations at this point in the regular season. Both have fallen short of expectations, particularly recently, and risk missing the playoffs entirely or losing their position. Although my first instinct is to analyze which team is more desperate, doing so seemed pointless given how woefully and disinterested both teams have recently performed in crucial games. The Mavericks are the team to have faith in, according to betting trends. In their last seven home games, the Heat have only one victory. Considering everything, including Dallas' impressive performance against Miami earlier this season, I'll wager on the Mavs.
